Fall, Winter, and Spring 2025-26 Sessions
With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts these productions are sure to get you into the act and having tons of fun. We're excited to extend the program to 6th graders this season! Strengthen your confidence and musical theatre presence. Learn to project your voice, take your dance moves to the next level, and interpret these fantastic musicals as only you can. For grades 2-6.
Pick-up: MacGuffin teachers will pick up actors at Greenfield Elementary School at 3 PM and walk them 2 blocks to our theatre at the Adrienne (2030 Sansom Street, 2nd Floor). Parents can pick up their young actor at 5:30 PM at MacGuffin. They will meet you in the Adrienne Lobby.
Fall 2025
Session 1 - Land of Oz
August 26- Oct 23, 2025 from 3-5:30pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays
Tuition: $500
Ages: 2nd - 6th Grade

Dive into the land of Oz from L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz series. The course will feature scenes and songs from musicals and plays based on the books. We'll explore your favorite Oz characters and at the end you'll perform our work in a showcase. Take your acting to the next level. Learn how to act, sing, and dance under the direction of MacGuffin's staff.

The animals on Farmer Brown's farm find a typewriter and the Cows type a request: \"Dear Farmer Brown, The barn is very cold at night. We'd like dome electric blankets. Sincerely, the Cows.\" The farmer types a note in response -- \"No way\" -- and tacks it on the barn door. So the animals go on strike: The Cows refuse to give milk and the Hens refuse to give eggs. Story by Doreen Cronin, music and lyrics by John Rea.

Session 3 - The Snakes of Fangore

In the snake territory of Fangore Forest, Vyprus, the best hunter of the snakes, is honored by the town for capturing a record 2,000 mice. Vyprus is grateful and encourages her daughter, Slidina, to be the next great hunter. The problem is Slidina has yet to capture one mouse. She's been afraid to go on the hunt by herself and live up to her mother's stature. Refusing to be made fun of by her friends and wanting to make her mother proud, she sets off to capture her first mouse. She brings back a mouse for her mother, but it turns out that the mouse is one of the daughters of King Nibbles of Mouse Kingdom. This opens a big can of worms for both kingdoms as the Treaty of Animals may have been broken. This story of courage, compromise, and shedding a skin has an upbeat rock score by John Rea and features great costumes and make-up!

Session 4 - Seussical

Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

For the Fall Session 1 tuition can be fully refundable up until August 16. After that, 50% of tuition can be refundable up until 2 PM on August 26.
For the Fall Session 2 tuition can be fully refundable up until October 10. After that, 50% of tuition can be refundable up until 2 PM on October 21.
For the Winter Session tuition can be fully refundable up until December 26. After that, 50% of tuition can be refundable up until 2 PM on January 6.
For the Spring Session tuition can be fully refundable up until March 6. After that, 50% of tuition can be refundable up until 2 PM on March 24.
