MacGuffin has been growing young actors for 22 years and even though we are self-quarantined for the time being to help our community be as safe as possible, our program will continue on creating theatre in new and exciting ways online. We hope that this revised camp will give you a fun and unique experience.
VIRTUAL Crash Course in Comedy (Middlers & Teens 11-18 yrs.)
August 3-7, 2020 – 1 week
Get intensive training in improvisation and sketch comedy. Learn to say ‘yes’ to what is offered and find the humor in everyday situations and bizarre ones, too. Act 1 of our show will feature sketch comedy from Monty Python, Upright Citizens Brigade, the Reduced Shakespeare Company and/or Saturday Night Live and original sketches. Act 2 will be our version of the popular TV show, Whose Line is it Anyway? There will be a Zoom performance on the last day of camp at 7 PM.
To take part in this camp all actors must have a 6’x6’ space to move, a computer or iPad with a camera and microphone, access to the Zoom app and a plain background like a white wall or simple mono-colored sheet.
