MacGuffin Questionnaire for Max Mester

  1. What was it like to make your first movie? Stressful, but in the end, I had a really great experience. I developed great relationships with my cast-mates, learned tons about what goes into filming a movie, and how to act like a normal human being when there’s a camera in your face.
  2. What was it like working with Molly McQuoid? Molly always makes filming a scene a spectacular time. Aside from being an amazing singer and actor, she’s also one of the funniest and kindest people I know. There’s never a dull moment when working with Molly.
  3. Tell us about your character/what drew you to this part. Potter Bangs is a quirky, Greasers-loving, dance-master. He always tries to make things right and pick up people’s spirits. Potter is a loyal and supportive friend and occasionally a clueless idiot. Potter and I are very similar in many ways, which made playing him a blessing and curse.
  4. What is your favorite word? Aqueous
  5. What is your least favorite word? Depth
  6. Relate a moment in your life where you feel you changed as a person. What was the event that caused it? In the summer of 8th grade, I auditioned for Tom Collins in Rent and completely bombed my audition. Thinking I already had the role, I did very little preparation. Since then, I’ve started taking every audition very seriously and know exactly what I’m going to do to the finest detail.
  7. What trait in others makes you crazy? Forgetfulness
  8. What sound or noise do you love? The sound when you hit a baseball on the sweet-spot of a wooden bat.
  9. What sound or noise do you hate? When chalk screeches on a blackboard.

  11. What profession would you not like to do? Lawyer (sorry Mom and Dad).
  12. Who inspires you – alive or dead? Joel Embiid; great athlete, hard worker, and funny dude. Taught me to always #trusttheprocess.
  13. What is your favorite food and drink? Pastrami sandwich and Dr. Brown’s cream soda.
  14. What is your favorite color and flower? Light blue and roses.
  15. What are your favorite names? Xander, Rex, and Julius.

  17. What famous quote resonates with you? “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take,” – Wayne Gretzky
  18. If you could come back as any person in history, who would you be? Ibn Batutta – that man was well traveled.
  19. Name a recent theater piece or film that moved you. “The Darkest Hour,” the Winston Churchill movie, got the waterworks going.
