How to Audition
Time: 9-10 AM, Saturdays April 5 - May 10, 2025 (off April 19)

Do you need to improve your audition skills? What actor doesn't? This important class will give you new skills to help you audition to the best of your ability. Together we will walk through the steps of preparing for and executing your audition. Each actor will practice their audition each week and get professional feedback. Monologues from contemporary plays, films and musicals will be used. We'll also help you format your resume.

Musical Theatre Prep - Mean Girls
Time: 10-11 AM, Saturdays April 5 - May 10, 2025 (off April 19)

Get your act together. Sharpen your acting, singing and dancing skills. This class will feature the audition songs for our Musical Theatre Camp productions this summer. Dive into the roles and bring your characters to life. This is a great class for anyone with a passion for musical theatre, but especially for those interested in our summer musical theatre camp featuring Mean Girls.

5 Master Classes
Time: 11 AM - 12:30 PM, Saturdays April 5 - May 10, 2025 (off April 19)

On the heels of last season's hit master classes is a sequel taught by professional Philadelphia and New York actors and directors. Each week a master class will focus on valuable acting, choreography and vocal techniques aimed at helping you become the best actor you can be. Topics include: Costume Design, Rehearsal Technique, Stage Combat, Putting a Character Together, and more. This class is not to be missed by serious actors.

Comedy Improv
Two Time Options: 1-2 PM & 2-3pm, Saturdays April 5 - May 10, 2025 (off April 19)

Making people laugh is one of the great joys in life. Get your funny on while you learn to create comedy on the spot, using simple suggestions and your own top-of-your-head responses. Comedy and the ability to bring humor to a situation serves you in every aspect of your life. We have a long tradition of creating comedy improv at MacGuffin, with our expert comedians performing in This Side Up Comedy Improv Troupe. This class is a perfect first step in learning how to work with partners, make up wacky jokes and characters, and test your limits…all while having a great time!
