Little Twisters Ages 4-6

Enchanted & Disenchanted Plus

Tuesdays
Time: 4-4:45 PM
April 11 - May 9
Instructors: Jen Jaynes & John Rea
Price: $145

Explore the magical worlds of Disney's Enchanted and the new musical Disenchanted!  Imaginations spring to life as you become characters and sing songs from both films. Learn how to speak, sing and dance for an audience. Find your voice and build confidence as you learn to speak and sing clearly…all the way to the BACK ROW! Coordinate your body and create dance moves that reveal character.  Also dive into dialogue and character development as you learn how to memorize lines and  conform your body and voice to fit the scene. There will be a performance of the songs and scenes from the class on the last day of class, Tuesday, May 9th at 4:30pm; at the end, each actor will take their professional bow!

Youth Classes (Ages 7-10)

Production Class featuring You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown

Time: 9-10:30 AM
Instructor: Jen Jaynes
Price: $220

Let’s take scenes from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and bring them to life! As we work together to put on a short play about the antics of Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Snoopy, Woodstock, Sally and more, you will practice the building blocks of acting such as memorization and projecting your voice, but your confidence as an actor will really grow as you explore what it means to create fully formed, three dimensional characters! There will be a short performance on Saturday, May 20 at 7 PM.

 

Musical Theatre Prep 

Time: 11 AM - 12 PM

Get your act together. Sharpen your acting, singing and dancing skills. This class will feature the audition songs for our Musical Theatre Camp productions this summer. Dive into the roles and bring your characters to life. This is a great class for anyone with a passion for musical theatre, but especially for those interested in our summer musical theatre camp.

Middler & Teen Classes (ages 11-18)

How to Make Audition Videos
Time: 9-10 AM
Instructor: John Rea
Price: $145

Do you need to improve your video audition skills? What actor doesn't? This important class will give you new skills to help you audition to the best of your ability with high production values. Together we will walk through the steps of preparing for and executing a video audition. Each actor will practice making videos and in and out of class and get professional feedback. Monologues from contemporary plays, films and musicals will be used.

5 Master Classes
Time: 11 AM - 12:30 PM

This exciting new series of master classes will be taught by professional Philadelphia and New York actors and directors. Each week a master class will focus on valuable acting, choreography and vocal techniques aimed at helping you become the best actor you can be. Topics include: Acting Through Song, Rehearsal Technique, Dance Audition Skills and more. This class is not to be missed by serious actors.


Comedy Improv
Time: 1-2 PM
Instructor: Jen Jaynes
Price: $145

Making people laugh is one of the great joys in life. Get your funny on while you learn to create comedy on the spot, using simple suggestions and your own top-of-your-head responses. Comedy and the ability to bring humor to a situation serves you in every aspect of your life. We have a long tradition of creating comedy improv at MacGuffin, with our expert comedians performing in This Side Up Comedy Improv Troupe. This class is a perfect first step in learning how to work with partners, make up wacky jokes and characters, and test your limits…all while having a great time! If you like the tv show Whose Line is it Anyway, you can’t miss this class!

Most classes are 1 hour in length. Exceptions:
- Production Classes (90 minutes)
- Little Twister Classes (45 minutes)

Tuition can be fully refundable up until March 25. After that, 50% of tuition can be refundable up until 9:30am, April 15.
